Kate and Jo

kate of little doodles has a new idea called the wingtipper. and in a similar vein, jo discovered this brilliant book that had 50 parisians sketching maps to places important in their everyday lives. the artist/author then followed these maps, and took pictures of the destinations. see some of the pages here.

World book

how long has it been since you've spun/looked at one? it's so much fun revising geography when you don't have to be tested on it(!). thanks to black eiffel.

Happy holidays

top, have you seen this spread of victoria beckham on elle? via Lost. bottom, a spanish farmer in the U.S. who has pioneered ethical foie gras. wonderful news if the idea of truffled foie gras potato tempura sounds good to you. a little heavy on a holiday, but this newsweek article takes an incredulous stand: that the presence of nuclear bombs might just make us safer. see what the journalist has to say over here, and what his opposers think.

Shop update: New arrivals

this time every year, the world divides into two halves: the ones who get their autumns and winters, and the ones - like us - who don't. but that in no way is any reason for us to go through our eternal summer any less stylishly.

while there was time yet, we made orders for plenty of gorgeous, lightweight blazers and cover-ups: designed for maximum style and protection against autumn winds, these same blazers are perfectly made for our very chilly air-conditioned offices.

they come ultra-cropped, tuxedo-like, military styled and in the most classic, polished forms. we can't think of a better companion for our many new dresses - party/work, sheath/A-line, or otherwise - in store!

new Sep/Oct '09 collection out on Friday 18 Sep.

above, the one photograph that says it all for us. by the sartorialist.

5 seconds of your time

5 Sec Faces is a street photography project between fleecircus and danny santos that aims to capture the different personalities that make up the face of Singapore.

an ongoing project that happens every weekend, the two roam the streets of singapore with an illustration board for a makeshift background, look for strangers with distinct faces, then ask "can I take your picture? it'll just take 5 seconds".

see the pictures here, and give your 5 seconds to this fun project if you get stopped!
